This doesn't look good for Sean.

On Tuesday, news broke that the House Select committee investigating the deadly January 6 attack on the Capitol is preparing to ask Fox News host Sean Hannity to cooperate with its probe voluntarily. Hannity, who has worked as an informal adviser to the twice-impeached one-term President, was talking out of both sides of his mouth on the day of the insurrection. CNN kicked off Wednesday morning by playing a side-by-side of Hannity on the 5th, showing what the Fox News personality was saying on the air vs. what he said in the damning texts he unleashed to try to get the former President to call off his mob of supporters.

CNN hosts Brianna Keilar and John Berman noted Hannity’s role in the madness as he was in strategy sessions with Trump at the time. Berman said that before the attack, Hannity texted, “I’m very worried about the next 48 hours.”

“So, the select committee points out correctly, why?” he asked. “Why was this person who was in constant contact with people inside the White House worried about what was about to happen? What did he know about the plans that were in place that were about to happen?”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who served as a White House aide to Trump, weighed in to say that Hannity knew the day would turn violent.

“He is worried in either one direction or the other that he knew that this day was going to get violent and going to be a mar on our American democracy, or he was worried — as his texts seem to reveal — knowing President Trump had lost the election. He was not going to win, there was no path for recourse, the results were not going to be overturned, and what that would mean for Trump, how he would handle it,” Griffin said.

“And I think — listen, this kind of tenuous effort to say that Sean Hannity is a journalist and that might give him some kind of coverage to not have to comply, just doesn’t pass the smell test,” she added. “He’s very much an opinion commentator, and he’s going to have to speak to the committee.”

Yeah, this doesn’t look good for Hannity or the former President.
