Scandal-plagued former President Donald Trump is spending his Monday morning in a Manhattan courtroom where he stands trial on 34 felony charges brought against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, related to falsifying business records and illegal campaign finances in connection to hush money payments made to his alleged affair partners, in exchange for their silence, in an effort to protect his 2016 presidential campaign.
But for all the drama he kicked up leading up to today’s hush money trial kickoff, it seems the former president was less than enthralled once he was seated in the courtroom and jury selection began — considering multiple courtroom reporters seemed to believe that Donald Trump was seen “dozing off” during court.
As attorneys from both the defense and the prosecution were discussing rules for jury selection, the scandal-ridden and thoroughly disgraced former president was seen appearing to fall asleep at his seat.
Courtroom reporter Stewart Bishop took to X (formerly known as Twitter) with his observation: “It very much looks like Trump is dozing off right now.”

Reporter Erik Uebelacker made a similar observation, writing on social media, “Tough to see the screen in the overflow room, but I swear Trump is nodding off at the defense table. His chin just hit his chest, then his head shot back up. We’ve all been there.”

Even New York Times’ famed “Trump-Whisperer” Maggie Haberman noted that Donald’s head kept “dropping down” in the courtroom:

Habberman first made the announcement while “live blogging” for the NYT.
