The American Conservative Union (ACU) released an announcement on Saturday to say that an attendee at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Even though the deadly COVID-19 virus has hit more than half of the states in the country, Donald Trump appeared to downplay the concerns and previously went as far as to say it’s “very safe” to attend his massive rallies.
But shit just got real for the former reality show star since he shook hands with an attendee who contracted the potentially fatal virus.
“The American Conservative Union (ACU), which hosts the high-profile Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), confirmed Saturday that one of this year’s conference attendees has tested positive for the novel coronavirus,” Fox News reports. “The conference is attended by many lawmakers, politicians and White House officials. President Trump and Vice President Pence also spoke at this year’s event.”
First, this happened:
WH: The White House is aware of an individual testing positive for coronavirus after attending the CPAC conference that took place nearly two weeks ago..there is no indication that either President Trump or Vice President Pence met with or were in close proximity to the attendee

Then things changed quickly when CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp said that he interacted with the attendee who has tested positive for coronavirus. At some point afterward, Schlapp shook Trump’s hand on stage the last day of the conference.
“I think we have to be calm and see what occurs here and hope our friend gets better,” Schlapp told the Washington Post.
White House officials said they were taking precautions, and Trump, who is a germaphobe, told reporters at Mar-a-Lago that he wasn’t worried.
“I’m not concerned at all,” Trump said as he met with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro for dinner. The exposure to the deadly virus did not concern Trump enough to stop his rallies in order to keep his supporters safe.
“We’ll hold tremendous rallies,” he told the news outlet.
Uhm…
CPAC, which today confirmed an attendee was infected with coronavirus, is where then-acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney accused the press of hyping coronavirus, which he described as a media ploy to try to bring down Trump.

I’m just going to leave this here:
Mercedes Schlapp moved to Donald’s reelection team after Stephanie Grisham got the job she wanted. So if Matt is infected, she most likely is as well and…

Trump will literally put his own supporters’ lives at risk, and oddly, they’ll probably cheer him on.
