The highly-anticipated Inspector General report was just released and the findings are not what Republicans had hoped for. Early on, Lisa Page, the former FBI lawyer, and agent Peter Strzok became a focus for Republicans. Donald Trump lashed out repeatedly, displaying vitriol toward the FBI, saying that the couple displayed bias toward the “president” in their text exchanges but that talking point just got blown out of the water.
The report uncovered a number of messages from pro-Trump FBI employees, and we’re sure that Republicans will vilify them, too, just as they did with Page and Strzok for daring to have an opinion on Donald Trump and his 2016 election victory.
“Trump!” one message reads.

In response, an agent writes, “Hahaha. Shit just got real.”

Apparently, they thought Hillary Clinton was a “criminal.”
One FBI supervisory special agent IMed that they were “so elated with the election” and compared the election coverage to “watching a Superbowl comeback.”

want a criminal to be in the White House.”— Ryan J. Reilly (@ryanjreilly) December 9, 2019
“if you hear talk of a special prosecutor… I will volunteer to work [on] the Clinton Foundation.”

We’re sure they’ll be called to testify by Republicans, right?

The report by Michael Horowitz, the inspector general for the Justice Department, found that the FBI was justified in launching its July 2016 investigation into the Trump campaign, known as “Crossfire Hurricane.”
The IG report concluded that there is no evidence that the FBI’s decision to open an investigation into the Trump campaign’s connections to Russia in 2016 was influenced by political bias. And British Intelligence Officer and Russian expert Christopher Steele was not actually a Democratic deep state operative trying to undermine the “president.” It turns out that he is buddies with Ivanka Trump.
Attorney General William Barr isn’t exactly pleased and slammed the report.
