I think Trump is starting to get nervous.

The 2024 United States presidential election is rapidly closing in on us, and while scandal-ridden former President Donald Trump has yet to officially throw his hat into the ring and formally announce his candidacy in the upcoming race — likely in an effort to avoid those pesky campaign finances laws for as long as he possibly can — it’s pretty widely accepted that, provided he’s not in a prison cell by then, we’re going to see Donald J. Trump’s name on the 2024 ballot.

And now, it seems the former guy is issuing a public and very thinly-veiled warning to his former Vice President Mike Pence, as well as any other former Trump Administration Cabinet members, that he would be very unpleased, should their names be on the primary ballot against him.

Trump’s not-a-threat came during his recent interview with Fox News Radio host Brian Kilmeade on the recent episode of The Brian Kilmeade Show. Despite Kilmeade’s prodding, Trump continued to refuse to commit to a 2024 presidential run, or cough up any details on when that potential announcement may finally, officially come. However, the former guy appeared to try to make it clear to any of his former Cabinet members who may be eyeing the possibility of throwing their own hats in the ring that just because he hasn’t announced yet, does not mean he’s going to be accepting of it if they do.

Toward the end of the Fox interview, Kilmeade asked Trump, “Mr. President, when will you decide if you’re going to run in 2024? And how would you handle running against people in your cabinet like [Mike] Pompeo, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence?”

“Well, many of them have said they would never run if I run. So, we’ll see whether or not that turns out to be true,” Trump responded before issuing this seemingly thinly-veiled warning to his former people, “I think it’d be very disloyal if they did [run], but that’s okay too. And the polls have me leading by 40, 50 points.”

Kilmeade attempted multiple times throughout the interview to goad Trump into revealing to listeners when his official 2024 announcement will come, but Donald wasn’t biting and would only say that a formal announcement is likely coming in the “not-too-distant future.”
