As scandal-ridden former President Donald Trump prepares to head south for his MAGA-turned-Save-America rally in the Lonestar State this evening, local and popular Houston Chronicle has issued the corrupt former guy a very brutal, very public call-out on the $500,000-plus in expenses that the ex-president still owes to the city of El Paso for a rally he held there — way back in 2019.

The Corpus Christi Caller Times reports that former President Trump, who is quite literally neck deep in scandal and legal peril from every conceivable direction right now, is set to appear at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown tonight, where he is slated to share the event stage with the likes of Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton and U.S. Rep Michael Cloud, as midterm election voting rapidly closes in on the Republican party.

But, as Trump prepares to fly south tonight, the Houston Chronicle made sure to serve the washed-up former guy with a brutally public reminder that he still owes a hefty bill in the state, after he chose to stiff the city of El Paso, TX, for the transportation and security expenses of his 2019 event — as well as some pretty steep late fees on the charges.

“Shortly after the Walmart mass shooting that left 22 dead in El Paso, Trump scheduled a large political rally in the city to coincide with an event hosted by then-presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke,” the public lashing report against the ex-president reads. “But while O’Rourke paid back the city for the security it provided, Trump didn’t pay his tab.”

The Chronicle’s Edward McKinley goes on to write, “The billionaire former president, whose political war chest boasts well over $100,000,000, owes the city $569,204 for transportation, security, and a 21-percent late fee. In 2020, the city hired a law firm to try to collect, the city spokeswoman said, but so far $0 has been collected.”

McKinley goes on to point out that, despite the backlash surrounding the unpaid bill, Trump and his people don’t appear to be a bit concerned about squaring up on their growing debts.

“Trump’s office did not respond to a request for comment for this story, and has avoided responding to questions about the money he owes for three and a half years,” the report reads.
