That bad news is rolling in nonstop for Donald Trump here lately, and there doesn’t seem to be any end in sight.

In another brutal blow to the disgraced ex-president’s desperate efforts to wriggle out of any accountability or repercussions for his hand in the infamous, violent January 6th Capitol riot, KEYT News reports a federal judge announced today that he is personally and quickly reviewing emails about the 2020 presidential election between former President Trump, Right-wing attorney John Eastman, and various others in Trump’s circle. The judge is doing so to ultimately determine what, if any, of the information contained in the emails is protected by attorney-client privilege, and what is fair game to be turned over to the House Select Committee that’s investigating the Capitol attack and Trump’s specific role in inciting it.

Central District of California Judge David O. Carter did not comment specifically on the House panel’s accusations that Donald Trump at attorney John Eastman engaged in a “criminal conspiracy” to overturn the 2020 election.

As it currently stands, Judge Carter will only be reviewing the 111 documents that have been involved in the litigation but have not yet been disclosed to anyone, even the judge himself. Carter will then bear the responsibility of determining if the House Select Committee can be given access to the emails and the information they contain. He will then also have the ability to weigh in more deeply on his opinion of the significance of what the House panel has found.

“As the Court has previously noted, the evidence suggests that communications from those days are essential to the Select Committee’s pressing investigation,” Judge Carter wrote today.

This is just, of course, a small portion of the House Select Committee’s rapidly moving and ever-growing overall investigation into the riot and, more specifically, the part Donald Trump played in making it happen. Eastman is, of course, fighting hard against the House panel in pretty much every regard, and recently went so far as to claim that if Judge Carter ultimately agrees with the committee, “it may be the first formal finding of Presidential criminality by a federal court in United States history.”

Thus far, neither Eastman nor Trump have been charged with any crimes. But if you ask me… It’s only a matter of time now.
