Today, Conservatives got their knickers all in a twist when Vogue Magazine released their beautiful August cover featuring First Lady Dr. Jill Biden after the fashion publication had seemingly taken a four-year hiatus from first ladies during the Trump administration. But I’m willing to bet that the Right-wing crying isn’t quite over yet if they dare to read the Bidens’ interview that goes with that cover.

In a deep-diving cover story for Vogue, published today, the First Lady appeared to take aim at Donald Trump and his disastrous presidential term and did so with such poise and grace that she didn’t even have to mention his name.

The story walks readers through Jill’s time urging her husband to run for president on the Democratic ticket as Americans suffered through one of the biggest catastrophes we’ve ever known in our lifetime. However, it was Dr. Biden’s thoughts on her husband’s presidency that truly drew the differences in the administration to light.

“People can breathe again,” since Joe became president, the first lady said.

President Biden was interviewed for the story as well and recollected his sweet wife urging him to run.

“You gotta run. Because there’s so much at stake,” he remembered her saying.

“There was no real upside to living physically in the White House,” President Biden explained before turning to his wife and saying, “It’s the greatest honor in the world…but there’s no privacy. I think the same thing was sinking in with you about the state of the country.”

“During the campaign, I felt so much anxiety from people; they were scared,” Dr. Jill Biden told the publication in the interview. “When I travel around the country now, I feel as though people can breathe again. I think that’s part of the reason Joe was elected. People wanted someone to come in and heal this nation, not just from the pandemic, which I feel Joe did by, you know, getting shots in everybody’s arms. But also… he’s just a calmer president. He lowers the temperature.”

The story notes the “collective trauma” that this country as a whole has suffered through under Trump’s reign “and here’s a calm, experienced, empathetic president, and here’s a first lady who is driven, tireless, effortlessly popular, but also someone who reminds us of ourselves. She’s selling a new vision for how our most fundamental institutions ought to work—infrastructure, education, public health—even as she goes to extraordinary lengths to keep a real-world job, to stay in touch with what makes her human and what matters most.”

Vogue’s deep-diving profile of the current First Lady is the first since Michelle Obama, something Donald Trump has long complained about, claiming his wife was never put on the cover of the magazine. However, Melania Trump was offered a profile from the high-profile magazine, she simply turned it down. And not in such a nice way either.

According to released audio recordings, the former First Lady was caught back in 2018 saying, “Vogue said like, ‘oh, we want to do a profile.’ Profile? F*ck you, profile. I don’t need no profile. Yeah, what I need another profile?’ It might be a cover. I’m like, ‘might be a cover? I don’t give a f*ck about Vogue and any magazine.'”
