According to a bombshell new report from ABC News, yet another former Trump aide has bit the proverbial dust, as the report reveals that the House Select Committee that’s currently tasked with investigating the January 6th Capitol riot has issued a subpoena for former Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro — after Navarro very openly bragged about his plan to convince now-former Vice President Mike Pence to go along with Donald Trump’s plan to refuse the certification of the Electoral College votes and ultimately overturn the 2020 presidential election.

House Committee Chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, announced the new Navarro subpoena today, stating that the former Trump aide “appears to have information directly relevant to the Select Committee’s investigation into the causes of the January 6th attack on the Capitol.”

The House Committee went on to cite Navarro’s very public claims regarding his alleged plan, in conjunction with staunch Trump ally Steve Bannon to persuade Mike Pence to reject the certification of the Electoral College votes in Joe Biden’s favor on January 6th, ultimately sending the decision back to key swing states with Republican-led legislatures.

“In an interview, Mr. Navarro reportedly added that former President Trump was ‘on board with the strategy,’ as were ‘more than 100’ members of Congress,” the January 6th House panel explains. “Mr. Navarro also released on his website a three-part report, dubbed the ‘Navarro Report,’ repeating many claims of purported fraud in the election that have been discredited in public reporting, by state officials, and courts.”

In an interview with the Daily Beast last year, Navarro himself stated, “It was a perfect plan. And it all predicated on peace and calm on Capitol Hill. We didn’t even need any protesters, because we had over 100 congressmen committed to it.”

Rep. Thompson said of the subpoena and the House Committee’s overall probe, “More than 500 witnesses have provided information in our investigation, and we expect Mr. Navarro to do so as well.”
