There was a time when former Tea Party Congressman Joe Walsh was all-in on the Trump train, even to the point of threatening to grab a “musket” if Hillary Clinton won the presidential election in 2016. Now that it’s 2020, Walsh is full of Trump regrets and is a Republican presidential hopeful and Trump critic. It’s all fun and games until the “president” starts flushing democracy down the shitter fifteen times along with Republicans who appear to be set to acquit Donald Trump in the Senate impeachment trial. On top of that, Republicans seem ready to disallow witnesses and documents in the trial.
Musket Joe appeared on CNN Friday and tore into his “cowardly” Republican pals in the Senate.
“Absolutely cowardly!” Walsh said. “I’m a Republican running for president, this is a difficult thing for me to say, but these Senate Republicans are going to pay a big price in November for what they’re about to do, and they deserve to pay a big price.”
Walsh went on to say that there would be repercussions for his party’s decision to acquit Donald Trump while blocking witness testimony.

“These Senate Republicans are going to render a verdict without demanding a trial,” Walsh insisted. “No witnesses, no evidence, no documents. They’re going to decide acquittal or removal without a trial! That’s profoundly wrong!”
Walsh went on to cite polling numbers that show that an overwhelming amount of Americans want witnesses to be allowed in the trial.

Walsh explained that the alleged humans who attend Trump’s “lie-filled” rallies are going to stay in the “president’s” corner, but he said, Republicans such as Sens. Cory Gardner (R-CO), and others need “more than just that base to win.”
Sen. Lamar Alexander, a retiring Tennessee Republican, dashed our hopes of having a fair Senate trial late Thursday night. Meanwhile, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) will vote on Friday to allow additional witnesses and documents in Trump’s impeachment trial — meaning that Alexander has less of a spine than Mitt fucking Romney.
Americans are left with one option: Take back the Senate at the ballot box.
