Donald Trump failed to disclose his tax returns even though it was one of his campaign promises, and he might have an ally at the IRS who has helped to interfere with them, according to a whistleblower complaint that was filed. Actually, the complaint might not have to do with Trump’s taxes: This might be regarding Trump’s or Vice President Mike Pence’s. So, in a future book possibly titled “The Hiding Of A Corrupt President’s Tax Returns,” we know who the protagonist is, but it’s unclear which of the two is the antagonist in this chapter.

According to the Washingon Post, Senate investigators have finally conducted an extensive interview in recent weeks with the whistleblower at the Internal Revenue Service who has said the audit of the “president” or the Vice President was the subject of improper political interference.

The whistleblower, a career IRS employee, alleges that at least one political appointee at the Treasury Department may have tampered with an audit of Trump or Pence. The Trump administration is, of course, downplaying the complaint, calling it hearsay.

The whistleblower, according to the Post, delivered transcribed remarks to staffers for Sens. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), the chairman and highest-ranking Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee.

“It seems Wyden and Grassley are doing their due diligence. The tax-writing committees ought to find out about this,” said Steve Rosenthal, a senior fellow in the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan think tank. “The next step would be, depending on what happened, pursuing the next step to corroborate what the whistleblower said.”

The whistleblower’s complaint was first disclosed in an August court filing by Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA), the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, as part of his lawsuit against the Trump administration to force the release of the “president’s” tax returns, a thing that shouldn’t have to be done since Trump promised to release them while on the campaign trail.

Trump supporters, for some reason, seem to give their alleged billionaire “president” a pass on this, as if they don’t care if Donald fulfills his campaign promises or not. We’re sure Rand Paul will be sniffing around for the whistleblower’s name so he can publicly out the individual.
