Fox News Host Schools McEnany During Live Interview After Trump Told People To Vote Twice: “That Would Be Against The Law”

It always turns out that Trump didn't mean what he said, huh?

Yesterday evening, Donald Trump hit a new low in his fight against mail-in voting when he appeared to essentially encourage Americans to commit voter fraud by trying to vote twice, once by mail and once in person, in an effort to somehow test the system and prove his insane theories right.

In his mind, it seems, all people “should” attempt both a mail-in and in person vote for the coming election. By his theory, either the system works and they won’t be allowed to vote the second time, or he’s right, the system is flawed, and everyone will get two votes — preferably for him, no doubt, in his head.

“On your ballots, if you get the unsolicited ballots, send it in and then go make sure it counted,” Trump said yesterday. “And if it doesn’t tabulate, you vote. And then if they tabulate it very late, which they shouldn’t be doing, they’ll see you voted and so it won’t count.” Adding, “So, send it in early and then go and vote.”

Either way, what Trump was seeming to suggest yesterday was flat out voter fraud. Plain and simple.

But, as we’ve come to expect out of this administration, one of his jockeys was quick to jump to his defense, falling back on the age old “he didn’t actually mean what he said” excuse, for the president that people allegedly pride in meaning what he says.

During a segment on Fox News, press secretary Kayleigh McEnany insisted that Trump does not want Americans to break the law by commiting voter fraud, despite the fact that he told people to vote twice.

During her talk with McEnany, host Sandra Smith was sure to point out the problem with Trump’s suggestion.

“That would obviously, if that’s the suggestion, be against the law, Kayleigh,” she stated before asking, “Why did the president say that?”

Unsurprisingly, Kayleigh essentially denied that Trump said what we all heard him say.

“The president is not suggesting anyone do anything unlawful,” McEnany asserted. “What he said very clearly there is make sure your vote is tabulated and if it is not then vote. Basically, when you get an absentee ballot and you send it in, there are poll books and it is recorded that you have in fact voted. And if you show up at a polling site, they look at the poll book and say your vote has been counted.”

Smith wasn’t letting her get away with that, interrupting with, “But Kayleigh, He said, ‘Send it in early and then go and vote.’ Isn’t that telling someone to go vote twice?”

“The president said send it in early, go and see if it’s been tabulated, if it hasn’t been tabulated, then vote,” Kayleigh fired back, dodging the quote from her boss altogether.

“It’s very clear,” she said. “What Democrats are saying is we want a system full of fraud and we want zero accountability and zero verification that you voted when we know that hundreds of thousands ballots were not counted in 2016 before we had this fraudulent system.”

Look, lady. We all heard what he said. There’s no amount of backtracking or explaining that will change that. Even Fox News knows it.
