White House Press Secretary Jan Psaki has repeatedly smacked down Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy. Still, now he had a different person in mind to take on when Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre took to the podium on Wednesday for the daily White House press briefing. Jean-Pierre certainly knew how to handle herself with Doocy, who seems to want to garner attention at each briefing.
Doocy brought up the number of Americans that have died from COVID-19, as it was something that has concerned him. Still, he didn’t take issue with that when hundreds of thousands of Americans died on former President Donald J. Trump’s watch.
“Just take a step back,” Doocy told Jean-Pierre. “Anything that kills 591,116 Americans, is that something that another nation, either was responsible or knew more than they were letting on like you said they weren’t letting the inspectors in and that hurt the overall investigation forever. What would the President do? I mean, would he do anything?”
Jean-Pierre wasn’t having it.

“I mean he’s doing something right now,” she said. President Biden had just announced earlier that he had ordered the U.S. Intelligence Community to investigate the origins of COVID-19 and report back to him in 90 days’ time. Doocy could have found that information via Google.
“He’s been, he asked his team back in March, right to do, to do this, to look into this, look into the origins of the COVID-19, this is incredibly important,” she explained to Doocy. “Like his statement says we need to find out how, where the COVID-19 originated from so this, the President has been very clear, he actually, you know, spoke out about this back in 2020.”
“So this is not the first time we’ve heard his voice, his concern about the origins of COVID-19,” Jean-Pierre continued. “So we’re just taking the next step, I’m just not going to prejudge. I’m not going to make a statement until, you know, until we know what happens after this 90-day review. Thanks.”

It takes a lot of gall for Doocy to ask that about President Biden after this administration successfully distributed vaccines for Americans. Biden didn’t hold super-spreader events to comfort his ego while dancing to YMCA. That was Trump. Doocy sure was quiet in 2020 when the pandemic hit.
