Republican lawmakers Marco Rubio and Steve Daines are getting rightfully slammed all over social media as we speak after they allegedly blatantly ignored a clear request from Ukraine’s ambassador to stay off of social media during a Zoom call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an effort to help protect and preserve the leader’s security amid the country’s war with Russia. Despite these pleas from the country’s ambassador, both of the Republican senators still took it upon themselves to post screenshots of their call with Zelenskyy to their Twitter accounts, essentially putting the Ukrainian President’s literal life in danger.
Zelenskyy was on the call to discuss his concerns with US lawmakers as his nation remains under attack by invading Russian forces.
As you can expect, the Republicans’ blatant disregard for President Zelenskyy’s literal life and safety earned them a very public flogging by Democratic House Rep. Dean Phillips, who brutally called the pair out on their “appalling and reckless ignorance” despite the clear pleas and warnings about social media posts from the Ukrainian ambassador ahead of the call.
“The Ukrainian Ambassador very intentionally asked each of us on the zoom to NOT share anything on social media during the meeting to protect the security of President Zelenskyy. Appalling and reckless ignorance by two US Senators,” Phillips wrote on Twitter following the Zoom call with the Ukrainian president.

Naturally, Phillips was far from the only one to take aim at Rubio and Daines for their clear disregard for Zelenskyy’s life and safety, with one social media users fuming, “Why the hell would you risk that man’s life by tweeting this in real time when you were specifically asked not to?!”

Maybe you can tell him you voted against sending them the aid they needed just a few years ago?https://t.co/6Xs8sNrQQg

You were specifically asked by Ukranian Ambassador to not share anything on social media during the call for security reasons. Is your need for clicks so out of hand that you would risk Zelenskyy’s security?
Show a tiny bit of respect for this courageous man.

This is so thirsty. We all now your campaign took 1.5 million in donations from the Russians.

You dumbass!!! You were asked not to share ANYTHING on social media because it could compromise the safety of President Zelensky, but out of your desperate need to rewrite your own past & appear relevant in some way, you TWEETED THIS ANYWAY.
You shithead.https://t.co/sMIkLLEI3d— Jo 🌻 (@JoJoFromJerz) March 5, 2022
Take your clout chasing somewhere else, gentlemen. You’re literally endangering a man’s life.
