In Audio Leaked To Reporters, Trump Told Group Of Civil Rights Leaders That Lower Turnout Among Black Voters Helped Him In 2016: “It Was Great”

Oh. My. God.

If you have somehow managed to make it to this point in your life still believing that Donald Trump is not a steaming pile of racist human garbage, allow me to take this opportunity to officially ruin that for you.

Today, POLITICO released a bombshell new report that contained the details of an audio recording shared with their reporters, of a private meeting inside Trump Tower just days before Donald Trump was inaugurated as president of the United States — and believe me, it just serves as further proof of Donald’s true colors, especially when it comes to people of color in this country.

In the audio clip released to POLITICO reporters, Trump can allegedly be heard admitting to a group of civil rights leaders that a lower turnout of black voters in the 2016 U.S. presidential election was, in fact, extremely beneficial to him and served to help secure his “win.”

“Many Blacks didn’t go out to vote for Hillary ‘cause they liked me. That was almost as good as getting the vote, you know, and it was great,” POLITICO reports the then-president-elect saying in the leaked audio from the private meeting.

The secret audio was released to the publication by Tootsie Warhol who, at the time, served as chief-of-staff to Harry Wachtel, co-founder of the civil rights group Drum Major Institute, who Trump was holding the private meeting with on Jan. 16, 2017.

Warhol, who was born as Teddy Mukamal, now a lawyer-turned-activist, secretly recorded the 2017 on his iPhone.

He told POLITICO, “The first thing that I can never forget was how when you walked in, (Trump) name-drops all these Black celebrities and tries to give the illusion that they’re his friends.”

The report goes on to highlight examples of just that in the secret recording — a long line of less than humble brags from Donald Trump, essentially equating to “How can I be racist? I have so many black friends.”

At one point, Trump even bragged to the civil rights leader about his “great relationship” with his predecessor, Barack Obama.

Today, White House press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement, “The President is grateful for his support among Black Americans, and their many contributions to helping make America great. Donald Trump’s record as a private citizen and as president has been one of fighting for inclusion and advocating for the equal treatment of all. Anyone who suggests otherwise is only seeking to sew (sic) division and ignore the President’s work for underserved communities.”

But in all truth, Trump is undoubtedly just hoping once again that black people don’t vote. But I’ve got news for him. This whole country’s got news for him.
