It Appears As Though Trump Attempted To Crack A Joke At His Briefing But No One Seemed To Laugh

Yeah. Maybe don't do that?

I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that when it comes to the coronavirus that’s wrecking its way through the United States as we speak, Donald Trump has been a bit on the wishy-washy side. One moment he’s writing it off as a hoax, the next he’s telling us this thing is massive but he’s known it was a pandemic all along, then he’s acting as though we’re all going to die before he’s right back to talking as though it’s little more than the common cold and we need to take our asses to work.

Seriously, consistency has not been his thing over these last few weeks.

And now it seems as the last few, stray marbles rolling around in that Adderall-fried noggin of his roll the rest of the way out of his ears, Trump has taken to trying his hand at jokes.

During his now-daily coronavirus press briefing this afternoon, Donald opened with what we think was his attempt at cracking a funny before the presser got underway. The thing is, if it was a joke, absolutely no one found it funny.

“I want to thank you all for being here, and I have to say, I think, with social distancing that the media has been much nicer,” Trump appeared to quip at the gather White House press pool. “I don’t know what it is, all these empty, these in-between chairs… but it’s so much nicer, but I shouldn’t say that because you’ll get me.”

However, Trump was met with silence. If you listen hard enough, I almost bet you could hear crickets off in the distance, that’s how enormously unimpressed the audience was.

See for yourself:

I would say “don’t quit your day job.” But if Trump is even considering leaving the White House for a life of comedy, I have to say that I’d 100 percent support that decision. Until then, though, maybe leave the jokes to the funny people. Especially in the middle of a pandemic, okay?
