For years, Ivanka Trump has tried to put her political past behind her. But while she enjoys expensive holidays and life away from Washington, her Instagram comments suggest that plenty of people still associate her with the Trump administration.
Her latest post showed scenes from an autumn getaway to The Inn at Little Washington, an exclusive hotel in Virginia. Ivanka captioned the collection of photos “Autumn,” sharing glimpses of the property, including its gardens, antique interiors, fireplaces, animals, and a peaceful lake.

The hotel, however, is hardly an ordinary weekend destination. Rooms reportedly cost between $720 and $5,710 per night, while its two Michelin star restaurant offers a seven course tasting menu starting at $388 per person. Its caviar tasting menu reportedly costs $3,050 per person, including service charges.

Ivanka’s peaceful holiday photos did not keep the political debate away for long. Several commenters used the post to take aim at the Trump family, with some suggesting that she and her husband should be preparing for trouble.
One user wrote, “Hope you and your husband are running.” Another told her, “Might want to start packing and leaving the country.”
Others focused on the family’s wealth. One commenter sarcastically remarked, “I mean, what a glorious life in photos when you have hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, right?”
Another accused her of “Grifting Billions from America. You Go, Girl!” while someone else wrote, “Democrats have control of the House!!!! We’re coming!!!”
One user also described the Trump family as a “crime family,” adding, “Oh, happy day! The crime family’s time has come due.” But perhaps the shortest comment was also among the most pointed: “Lawyer up.”
The comments reflect the political baggage that has followed Ivanka even after she stepped away from her father’s administration. She served as a senior adviser during Donald Trump’s first presidency but chose not to return to public service when he sought another term.
She has previously explained that her children are now her priority and that she does not want them to sacrifice family time for another stint in Washington.
Back in September, Ivanka shared a collection of family vacation memories from the summer. One clip showed her daughter Arabella riding a horse along a beach, while the post was set to Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida.”
The reaction was not entirely positive. Some users accused her of flaunting her wealth while Americans were dealing with rising living costs. Some MAGA supporters also questioned the contrast between the family’s luxury lifestyle and the financial pressures facing ordinary Americans. Republican podcaster Melissa Witte pointed to the difficulty many people face paying for basic expenses.

Ivanka’s life away from politics has also included business ventures with her husband, Jared Kushner. The couple have pursued plans for a luxury resort on Albania’s Sazan Island, a former military base in the Mediterranean.
The proposed development includes hotels, private villas, and other facilities. However, the project has faced environmental objections and protests from residents concerned about its impact on the area’s sensitive coastal ecosystems.
