Donald Trump took questions from reporters as he met with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, and the president offered the public a series of lies, probably because today ends in a “Y.” Trump used part of his time on the air to defend his disgraced former national security adviser Michael Flynn who pled guilty to lying to the FBI. When asked whether he will pardon Flynn, Trump would not answer, but he did heap praise on Flynn repeatedly.
When White House correspondent for CNN Jim Acosta pointed out to Trump that he fired Flynn for lying to Vice President Mike Pence, the president said. “He’s going to come back bigger and better.”
So, Trump again isn’t making much sense amid the pandemic that taken nearly sixty-two thousand American lives, but that’s not too surprising since the president doesn’t appear to realize that the novel coronavirus is a new virus. That’s where the “novel” part comes in.
At one point, Acosta — usually a target of Trump’s — asked the president how they could have inherited a broken test if it’s a new virus with a new test. Trump has repeatedly blamed former President Barack Obama for things that just don’t add up, so Acosta called out the former reality show star.

“We have broken tests,” Trump insisted. “We had tests that were obsolete. We had tests that didn’t take care of people.”
Watch:
.@Acosta: You say you had “broken tests” from Obama — the coronavirus is a new virus, so how could the tests be broken?
TRUMP: “We have broken tests. We had tests that were obsolete. We had tests that didn’t take care of people.” (None of this makes sense.) pic.twitter.com/r7oobJNFU2

Literally nothing Trump said answered Acosta’s question, nor did any of it make sense. Trump just throws out some words from a blender, tosses them on a Scrabble board, and hopes he makes a score. Again, the novel in novel coronavirus means that it’s a new disease; therefore, Obama could have had testing for a virus that didn’t exist while he was in office. Geesh. Listening to Trump will suck IQ points out of your head — and that kind of explains his supporters.
