Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has never been one to take it easy on Donald Trump. In fact, a countless number of his shows have centered around whatever stupid thing the president did that day. I mean, with an almost endless supply of material like that and a career that relies on comedy, how could you not, right?
However, during last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live monologue, the late-night host dug his claws into Donald Trump and his rabid base, and this time without an ounce of humor in sight.
Recently, Kimmel played a somewhat misleading clip on his show that depicted the vice president carrying empty PPE boxes and suggested that the whole ordeal was a publicity stunt on Pence’s behalf. Since the video aired on his show, Kimmel claims that his family, including his 3-year-old son, have been on the receiving end of an onslaught of death threats from MAGA supporters.
The comedian had already issued an apology for airing a version of the Pence video that didn’t contain the full story of what was going on with the empty PPE boxes. However, he was told in an email from the Vice President’s office that his apology needed to be reiterated on air.

“Apologizing to the Trump administration for spreading untruth is like apologizing to Barry Bonds for using steroids. It’s hard,” Kimmel quipped.
“But the outrage from the MAGA hats, the outpouring of venom, was disgusting. Stupid too, but mostly disgusting. Some of these lunatics have the audacity to use the word Christian in their bios, but that didn’t stop them from wishing death on me, on my family, on my son.”
The late-night host went on to claim that he received hundreds of violent messages via Facebook and Twitter on Mother’s Day as a result of the misleading video he aired of Mike Pence.
“Spreading misinformation is their thing and I stepped on their toes,” Kimmel stated after apologizing again for spreading misleading information.
But the comedian certainly didn’t leave things here.
After issuing his on-air apology and revealing that his child was literally the subject of death threats at the hands of Trump’s crowd, Kimmel went on to demand a list of apologies from the President. And he certainly held nothing back in that regard.
“We would like an apology for separating thousands of migrant children from their parents, inviting the Taliban to Camp David, siding with Vladimir Putin over U.S. intelligence, calling Neo-nazis ‘very fine people,’ using campaign money to pay off a porn star, mocking a 16-year-old climate activist, mocking Christine Blasey Ford, obstruction of justice, ignoring warnings on coronavirus, downplaying the dangers of coronavirus, mishandling the coronavirus, we still don’t have tests for the coronavirus, why are we opening the country when we have no tests for coronavirus?” Kimmel fired off.
Frankly, he was nicer than I’d have been if someone threatened the life of my child.
