In a new appearance with MSNBC host Ali Velshi this weekend, former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade offered up her professional analysis that shaped up to be brutally damning news for the scandal-ridden ex-president when she theorized that the US Justice Department’s case for obstruction against Donald Trump is gaining steam with each passing moment at this point, ultimately making it far more likely that DOJ officials will finally be able to prove #45’s guilt beyond a shadow of reasonable doubt.

McQuade’s analysis came on the heels of the recent bombshell news that Justice Department officials are of the belief that Donald Trump continues to this day to possess and hide additional sensitive, highly-classified government documents that the DOJ is actively trying to recover, as they look into the former president’s other properties across the country. McQuade says that this is causing the legal peril surrounding Donald Trump to rapidly mount with each passing moment.

MSNBC host Ali Velshi questioned the attorney, “Why is he more worried about this and he seems to be about the other things that he is embroiled in?” in regard to the stolen documents that are believed to contain additional sensitive intelligence information.

“This one seems to be one that is really difficult to get out from under because he’s caught red-handed,” McQuade explained. “In so many of these other cases, proof of a crime requires knowledge and intent. I think Donald Trump is savvy enough not to use email and so it could be very difficult to prove that level of knowledge and intent.”

“With regard to these documents, just having them gets you about 90 percent of the way there,” the former US attorney went on to further elaborate before adding, “The other piece of it is just showing that he knew they were there. I think his own admissions have demonstrated that he did know they were there and there are statements about ‘I declassified them,’ ‘the FBI planted them,’ I think has acknowledged his knowledge that he had them there.”

“I think the likelihood of being able to prove that he is guilty is very high,” McQuade said. “The penalties for this, one of the charges is obstruction of justice, is 20 years in prison. So the consequences are also very high here. It is easier to get your arms around as the proof is very simple. He had these documents and willfully retained them and that is illegal and I think, for good reason, he is very concerned about being charged and convicted of a crime here.”

For the first time, it looks as though this might finally be the beginning of the end for Donald Trump.

We can only hope.
