Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani’s indicted associate Lev Parnas is appearing on the Rachel Maddow show tonight and MSNBC’s Ari Melber just released a teaser. It doesn’t look like Parnas is willing to go down alone following the release of the texts and documents he handed over to House investigators. The documents show that former ambassador Marie Yovanovitch — who you’ll likely remember from her testimony during the impeachment inquiry — was being surveilled by Giuliani’s henchmen, including Parnas. After being warned of a threat, Yovanovitch flew back from Ukraine to the U.S. But, she wasn’t aware of where the threat came from at the time. The materials reveal how shady this operatôn was, and her life appears to have been in danger.

Parnas not only revealed Giuliani’s complicity in targeting the ambassador but Donald Trump’s, too.

“President Trump knew exactly what was going on. He was aware of all my movements,” Parnas told Maddow. “I wouldn’t do anything without the consent of Rudy Giuliani, or the president. I have no intent, I have no reason to speak to any of these officials.”

Maddow asked Parnas about Trump’s claim when the “president” said he didn’t know him or Igor Fruman to which Parnas responded, “He lied.”

Watch:

“I mean they have no reason to speak to me,” he continued. “Why would President Zelenskiy’s inner circle, or Minister Avakov, or all these people, or President Poroshenko meet with me? Who am I? They were told to meet with me. And that’s the secret that they’re trying to keep. I was on the ground doing their work.”

Parnas and the other Giuliani associate, Igor Fruman, who Trump also claimed to not know, were charged with making $325,000 in illegal straw donations to a super PAC supporting Donald Trump, and also with giving $15,000 to a second committee, among a flurry of political donations placed in order to help them advance the interests of a Ukrainian government official and a Russian national seeking to break into the cannabis industry, according to MSNBC.

Unfortunately, we’re at a point where it’s hard to know whether to believe a thug like Parnas or a thug like Trump. But given the number of times Donald has claimed to not know someone who he did know, we’ll have to go with Parnas. After all, Trump has more to lose.
