Little Lindsey seems worried.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham tweeted out a plea for donations to his campaign as the number of COVID-19 related deaths topped 4,000 in the U.S. on Tuesday night. The Republican Senator, who once staunchly opposed Donald Trump, now seems to think it is his job to defend the president. Lindsey, though, is facing a battle in the red state against his Democratic challenger, Jaime Harrison.

Unemployment numbers are projected to hit a staggering 32 percent as Americans continue to self-isolate, with many states shutting down.

So, Linds sent out a tweet saying, “With so much happening, it’s easy to forget that the 2020 campaign is still going on. If you’re able, would you consider giving a small donation to help me spread my common-sense conservative message?” Included in the tweet is a video touting Trump’s leadership and praising doctors and nurses for their service.

“We’re trying to starve, kill this disease, and we need to follow the guidelines, but there is a campaign afoot,” Graham continued. “The liberals want to take back the Senate, they want the White House, and they haven’t stopped at all here against me, so I need your help.”

The Twitterverse had something to say about that.

Well, that didn’t go well at all.
