Lindsey Graham’s Chances Of Reelection Could Be In Trouble As He’s Locked In A Tie With Democratic Challenger In South Carolina

Graham should be freaking out.

President Donald Trump’s top lapdog Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) now finds himself tied with Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison in the polls, a sign that does not bode well for Republicans in November.

South Carolina is a deep red state but it appears the voters there are getting sick and tired of their senator not having a spine. After all, Graham has repeatedly demonstrated that he is incapable of standing up to Trump and he even helped rig the Senate impeachment trial in Trump’s favor, in complete disregard for the evidence of Trump’s misconduct.

That, coupled with Graham’s decision to help Trump downplay the coronavirus pandemic that has resulted in the deaths of over 100,000 Americans, has clearly caused many South Carolina voters to turn on him in support of Harrison, who has run a brilliant campaign thus far.

Several of Graham’s top donors have switched their support to Harrison, and now the two are tied in the polls.

The latest Civiqs poll shows Graham and Harrison tied at 42 percent, with Harrison leading big among independent voters 46 percent to 28 percent.

In addition, 56 percent of South Carolina voters view Graham unfavorably while only 35 percent have the opposite view.

The poll marks yet another turning point in this crucial race for Republicans, who could very well lose the Senate majority in November if Democrats are able to flip the seats of several vulnerable Republicans in Colorado, Arizona, and Maine. Even Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) could lose his race to challenger Amy McGrath. Flipping Graham’s seat would be equally satisfying for Democrats and a nation that is exhausted by Trump and his sycophants.

Harrison had been losing badly in the polls not too long ago, but is now on the cusp of taking over the lead with just five months to go before Election Day.

If Graham was not panicking before, he should be now.
