Things aren’t going well for two controversial congress members over their upcoming “Save America” rally after the venue in Orange Country abruptly canceled the event immediately after finding out who was slated to be the main speakers. Republican Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene, who lost her committee assignments over her past social media posts supporting violence against Democrats, and Matt Gaetz, who is under investigation for possible sex-trafficking of a minor, got the shaft from the owners of a Laguna Hills event center. General manager of Pacific Hills Banquet & Event Center, Javad Mirtavoosi, said, “We just want to stay clear of that.”
The Press-Enterprise reports that Greene and Gaetz’s teams spent a week trying to find a new location in Orange Country to no avail.
“Gaetz and Greene said they won’t share where the event will be held until 24 hours in advance, citing “security concerns.” But Greene’s spokesman Nick Dyer confirmed the move to Riverside on Thursday,” the outlet reports.
“Fliers started circulating last week about an America First rally at Pacific Hills Banquet & Event Center in Laguna Hills on July 17,” the report continues. “But the center’s general manager, Javad Mirtavoosi, said as soon as they found out who the speakers at the event would be, they canceled it, hoping to stay clear of the controversy surrounding Gaetz and Greene.”

According to the outlet, Greene’s campaign spokesman denied Mirtavoosi’s reason for why he canceled the event.
Greene insisted, of course, in a statement earlier this week that they had received “vile threats” and claimed that the original venue “got harassed and bullied into canceling.” The Press-Enterprise says the campaign did not respond to requests for evidence of those claims.
“Radical Democrats tried to cancel our rally in Orange County, CA,” Greene said in the statement. “But we won’t be intimidated and we’re moving full steam ahead and will see you July 17th!”
“Two days later, they announced they were headed to Riverside,” the report adds.
The GOP really has become the party of victimization. Republicans don’t take responsibility for their own actions. The fact is that if you act like batshit crazy members of Congress, people are going to notice, and it’s bad for business. Also, they would have both burned this country to the ground for Donald J. Trump if he had asked them to.
