US women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe responded to former President Donald Trump’s statement in which he seemed to be rooting against this country over “woke” players. Trump definitely likes to hold a grudge. The U.S. women’s soccer team is a familiar target of the former president since, in 2019, Megan Rapinoe was asked if she was excited about going to the White House if the team won. She said ahead of the tournament, “I’m not going to the f—ing White House.”
So, Trump blasted the team for not bringing home a gold medal.
“If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold medal instead of the Bronze,” Trump said in his statement.
“Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has,” he continued. “There were, however, a few patriots standing. Unfortunately, they need more help than that respecting our Country and National Anthem. They should replace the wokesters with Patriots and start winning again. The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics and not doing her job!”

“The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spent too much time thinking about Radical Left politics and not doing her job,” Trump added even though Rapinoe scored two of the team’s four goals as the U.S. won the bronze medal in women’s soccer at the Tokyo Olympics with a 4-3 victory over Australia.
Rapinoe responded in an interview with Nexstar Media Wire reporter Jack Doles and called Trump’s remarks “real sad.”
“It’s a real sad dig into an old bag,” Rapinoe said. “I’m just like, ‘You’re rooting for people to do bad?’ Yikes.”
The U.S. women’s soccer team took third place and the bronze medal in Tokyo after defeating Australia 4-3 on Thursday. Trump is the first president we’ve ever had that seems to actively hate the United States, its people, and all it stands for. And to think that his supporters think of the twice-impeached one-term president as some sort of patriot.
