Now that Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law, has accomplished peace in the middle east, the totally inexperienced boy wonder is now a central player in the White House effort to curb the massive coronavirus outbreak that has brought the U.S. to a standstill. Don’t you feel better now?

Typically, the country’s population needs to see a sitting president at the podium during a national crisis, but these are not typical times. These are very dark times, and we have a raging narcissist at the helm with his nepotistic family nipping at his heels. So, several networks have been cutting off the president when he speaks, probably because he has proven that he has nothing of value to offer. The briefings have turned into MAGA rallies, giving the president free airtime while the country is in need.

On Thursday, though, MSNBC cut away to do a fact-check after Trump promised to deliver immediate financial assistance to get businesses back on track.

Chuck Todd and Stephanie Ruhle weren’t having it after Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin offered some disinformation during the national crisis

“We should fact check him on a few things. He said ‘this is up and running tomorrow. You can call any FDIC bank.’ That’s not true,” Ruhle said. “You’re only allowed to apply from this loan for your existing bank. From someone you have a relationship with. I know they are making this sound very cut and dry and clear but the banking industry is one of the most highly regulated industries there are. There are huge anti-money laundering and know your customer issues, and that is one of the reasons thousands of smaller FDIC insured banks have already announced today and moments before secretary Mnuchin started speaking, JP Morgan Chase said most likely they cannot accept applications.”

“It’s not because they don’t want to. Congress, the president, Steve Mnuchin, all of these banks want to help the American people,” she continued. “The administration, the SBA and the Treasury Department have not gotten the framework, the actual rules that these banks need to understand to accept the applications. Thus far, are you ready for this? I spoke to one of the heads of these business banks and they have put together their solution of this is based on a guess. They are guessing.”

Watch:

It wasn’t just CNN and MSNBC cutting off Trump, but Fox News, too.

So it’s amateur hour at the Trump administration again — but this time the networks aren’t having it.
