Natalie Harp has been a top aide to Donald Trump since 2022. But it’s only recently that she has begun to attract attention as a key voice behind some of the president’s more contentious social media posts.
A Daily Mail story this week described Harp as a “mystery blond” with “unfettered access” to Trump’s phone, sparking “White House friction.”
“‘He [Trump] dictates to her, and she does his posts,’ says a source familiar with the administration’s communication strategy. ‘He types it out, and it rips,'” the Daily Mail said of the Truth Social workflow.
Harp is one of the few people in the White House with the password to Trump’s iPhone, The Daily Mail said.
Guess who’s making those middle-of-the-night Trump posts? Trump’s middle-of-the-night “aide” is available 24/7. https://t.co/acgl0SKV7j

“Harp is the go-to for writing copy and making quick and snappy posts on Truth Social with Trump’s permission, while the no-holds-barred [White House Communications Director Steven] Cheung helps with overall messaging and a stream of fiery posts designed to decapitate the president’s critics.”
However, Harp’s posts have sometimes caused “friction.”
“Harp has sparked friction among West Wing staffers by reportedly bypassing the standard chain of command, reportedly refusing to clear social media posts with the chief of staff’s office, communications team or even national security officials, according to a financial outlet.”
The story also quoted one book about the 2024 campaign, which stated that “Harp once authored a string of letters to the President, featuring one where she declared, ‘You are all that matters to me.'”
Another story, in the Wall Street Journal, stated that Harp was responsible for some of Trump’s “worst” social media posts, even though they came at the president’s direction. That Journal story looked at the mechanics of Trump’s late-night posting pings.
“Natalie Harp, Trump’s executive assistant, plays an integral role in Trump’s Truth Social activity. She brings the president stacks of printed-out draft social-media posts for his approval. The proposed posts often recycle content from other accounts that Harp or advisers think would appeal to Trump, according to people familiar with the matter,” the Journal said.
