Reports are now making waves across the media with more in-depth details regarding the news that broke this morning of the horrifying home invasion at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home — during which her husband Paul was “violently assaulted” with a hammer.
As it stands, a motive for the violent attack has not yet been confirmed or publicly released, but authorities have confirmed that the suspect has been apprehended and remains in police custody. Paul Pelosi was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he received medical treatment for his injuries, and is expected to make a full recovery from the violent physical attack. House Speaker Pelosi was not at the San Francisco home at the time of the invasion, according to reports. We have since reported that the assailant “specifically targeted” the Pelosi house, and was actively searching for the House Speaker, asking Paul during the attack, “Where is Nancy?”
Sources have continually stated that the Speaker’s husband is expected to make a full recovery from his, however, it seems that the extent of Paul’s injuries is more serious than we originally believed, as a hospital source now tells NBC Bay Area that Nancy’s husband is undergoing surgery as a result of injuries sustained during the attack.
“Pelosi was taken to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and underwent surgery, but not brain surgery, after Friday’s attack, Nancy Pelosi’s office clarified,” the report reads. “Previous reports citing a hospital source said he was undergoing brain surgery.”

While no official motive behind the violent attack, the driving force behind the suspect’s decision to invade the House Speaker’s home and assault her husband is becoming more and more clear.
Authorities have identified the suspect, who remains in police custody, as 42-year-old David Depape. The alleged assailant is being charged with attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, burglary, and several other felonies.
The Wall Street Journal reports, “Mr. DePape has espoused extreme right-wing views on social media, including conspiracy theories about Covid-19, according to one of the law-enforcement officials briefed on the investigation.”
A CNN analysis of the alleged assailant’s Facebook account uncovered memes and conspiracy theories regarding the 2020 election, as well as the topic of January 6th, and two family members have allegedly claimed that Depape is estranged from his family.
