Donald Trump’s approval ratings are rapidly sinking to levels this country hasn’t witnessed in years and years and to say the least, he’s freaking the hell out. And rightfully so, honestly, considering the last time this nation saw a presidential candidate projected for this big a loss was back in Jimmy Carter’s days.
You add his plummeting poll numbers to yet another huge spike in coronavirus cases in the country due to his ongoing botched response to the pandemic, then ice the cake with the massive Black Lives Matters protests and demonstrations that are still raging from coast to coast, and it comes as no surprise that the dude is super desperate to figure out how to save himself as he finally begins to realize that this thing is nowhere near “in the bag” like he’d hoped.
And a new report from Vanity Fair is shedding a little light on just how low Trump is feeling these days.
According to Republican sources who have spoken with the president recently, Donald’s demeanor can be described as rather depressed and “down in the dumps” as he comes to the stark realization that his reelection chances are all but gone now.

“People around him think his heart’s not in it,” one Republican source who’s close to the White House said.
The report goes on to claim:
Torn between the imperative to win suburban voters and his instincts to play to his base, Trump has complained to people that he’s in a political box with no obvious way out.”
Another GOP source even claims that Trump has gone so far as to call up Fox News’ Tucker Carlson sometime late last week and beg, “What do I do? What do I do?”
Another person in touch with Trump says he still has moments where he tries to convince himself that all is still well.
“He says the polls are all fake,” the sources stated to Vanity Fair.
But folks, we know Trump’s losing. And whether Trump is ready to admit it or not — Trump knows Trump’s losing too.
It’s only a matter of time now.
