Obama Was Heckled By Republicans During Democratic Rally, His Response Was So Different From Trump’s

This is how a real leader deals with hecklers.

Donald Trump can’t handle even the slightest bit of criticism even though it comes with the job. When you run for president, you should already be aware that a good portion of voters will cast a ballot for other candidates. But with Donald Trump, his massive ego just can’t deal with that. The former reality show star has even tried to claim that he won the popular vote (he did not win the popular vote). Real leaders know how to deal with hecklers without using bullying tactics and intimidation.

Former President Barack Obama knows how to handle hecklers, and that’s a thing that Donald Trump has never been able to master. While Trump incites violence toward protesters, Obama keeps his cool and uses his sense of humor. Last year, Obama was heckled a couple of times in a Florida appearance while stumping for Democrats ahead of the midterm elections. After the first heckler interrupted the former President, Obama calmly said, “We’re OK, we’re OK.”

“This is what I look forward to, is to have a few hecklers to get me back in the mood,” he said to cheers from the crowd. “It’s like I enjoy that. You always got to have a few in order to know that you’re on the campaign trail.”

Then, he was heckled again.

“Here’s the deal: If you support the other candidates, then you should go support the other candidates,” Obama said. “Don’t be here. One of the things I never understood was why, if you’re supporting the other guy, you come to my rally.”

Watch:

After another interruption, Obama asked, “Why is it that the folks that won the last election are so mad all the time?”

“I mean, like, when I won the presidency, at least my side felt pretty good. Even the folks who are in charge are still mad, because they’re getting ginned up to be mad.”

Watch:

While on the campaign trail, Trump, a septuagenarian, said he would have fought a protester if that individual had reached the podium.

“I’ll beat the crap out of you,” he said at the time.

“Part of the problem … is nobody wants to hurt each other anymore,” he added.

Trump is incapable of leading by example. He’s incited violence countless times and even said in 2016 that he was “looking into” paying the legal fees for the man who sucker-punched a protester during a campaign rally in North Carolina. Of course, he totally blames pretty much anyone but himself for the increase in violence that’s mysteriously happened since he was inaugurated.

Trump could learn a lot from President Obama which probably explains why he’s so obsessively jealous of his predecessor. He just can’t fit into a real leader’s shoes.
