President Donald Trump posted a phony Memorial Day tribute to our fallen heroes on Twitter after spending the previous two days on the golf course as Americans continue to die during this pandemic.
“As Americans, we will always defend our freedom and our liberty,” the proclamation reads. “When those principles are threatened, we will respond with uncompromising force and unparalleled vigor. Generation after generation, our country’s finest have defended our Republic with honor and distinction.”
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 25, 2020
Of course, we all know that Trump did not write a single word of this himself. We also know that he refused to “defend our freedom” and that when his generation was called on to fight for our country, he dodged the draft five times and stayed home while real men like the late Senator John McCain risked their lives. How many Americans died fighting in Trump’s place because he was too cowardly to serve during the Vietnam War?

That certainly makes anything Trump says on this day completely meaningless, and Americans called out his phony tribute.

Says the draft dodger who slanders war heroes if they disagree w/ him.
Says the one who invited the Taliban to Camp David just a few days before the 9/11 anniversary.

Says the one, who wished the Japanese troops a happy Memorial day. On Memorial day in 2019. In Japan. The country that killed 2,500 Americans and got USA into World War II

“Thank you to our fallen soldiers that have fought and died for the freedom to allow me to lie and cry on Twitter, just like our forefathers hoped for.”

Where is his ‘remembrance’ of the 100,000 people he alone was complicit in their deaths? Not one word for those people. Only for the ones who died in his place while he hid under daddy’s skirts

I find it highly insulting to my father who served our country in 3 wars with honor, that a 5 time draft dodger would lay a wreath in honor of actual soldiers who gave their lives for our country their lives were worth more than a chance for a photo opp looking like you care

Trump is an insult to the men and women who have died for our country. He should remain silent today and let real patriots pay tribute to their memory and sacrifice.
