Rand Paul, Who Signed the “US Term Limits Pledge” Back In 2019 Which Limits Senators To Serving Two Terms In Office, Just Reportedly Filed To Run For A Third Term

What a hypocrite.

In November of 2019, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was praised by the national, non-partisan movement leader to limit terms for Congress members. Scott Tillman of the U.S. Term Limits (USTL) said that Paul’s pledge signifies his continued commitment to support a congressional term limits amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Kentucky Republican even has a page set up on his website dedicated to term limits.

‘It is time to put an end to “career politicians,”‘ he writes. “I’ve introduced legislation that would impose a limit on the amount of time a person can serve in the House and Senate.”

Welp, Paul just filed to run for a third term.

You can’t make this stuff up.

The 2019 pledge read, “I pledge that as a member of Congress, I will co-sponsor and vote for the U.S. Term Limits amendment of three (3) House Terms and two (2) Senate terms and no longer limit.”

Paul said after signing the pledge, “The people who are here a long time, the system beats them down .. they get drained of their enthusiasm .. you need new blood to get that.”

And then he plans to run for a third term. Republicans excel at hypocrisy. Paul seems to think his job is to harass Dr. Anthony Fauci, our country’s leading infectious disease expert, amid the raging pandemic. Maybe the system is beating him down, and he’s drained of his enthusiasm. Or perhaps he’s just a liar. And a hypocrite.
