Whether it’s the result of a get rich quick scheme that hasn’t quite come to light yet or an effort on his part to just find some sort of miracle cure in the works before this pandemic serves as the final nail in the coffin of his already disastrous presidency, Donald Trump continues to dangerously push the use of controversial, unproven medications for the treatment of COVID-19. Namely, hydroxychloroquine — an immunosuppressive drug used in the treatment of malaria, lupus, and arthritis.
And the numerous warnings and reprimands he’s received from multiple heath experts have done nothing to stanch his repeated claims.
In fact, a new report from Politico now claims that Donald and his team are issuing warnings of their own.
While Dr. Anothny Fauci has stood his ground and continued to dispute Trump’s dangerous claims, Politico writes that other career health officials behind the scenes of this pandemic in the Trump administration have “been warned not to publicly speak out and potentially contradict Trump,” despite the fact that they’ve raised multiple concerns about “the risk to some Americans’ heart health and other complications” as a result of taking the unproven drug.

One official who spoke with the publication seems to agree with the latter hypothesis above, telling Politico that Donald’s hardcore obsession with the malaria drug is a result of his desire to get this disaster over with as soon as possible and pull the media’s attention away from his bungled and severely late response to the outbreak — calling the drug Trump’s “Hail Mary.”
“There’d be less focus on [hydroxychloroquine] now if we had planned better then,” the official told the publication.
The report goes on to indicate that high-ranking health officials such as Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx have and continue to struggle with convincing Donald that hydroxychloroquine is likely not the panacea he’s hoping for in regard to both the outbreak and his broken economy.
