Reporter Has Bad News For Trump As Independent Voters “Aggressively” Shift Against Him

We all know how Trump feels about bad news.

President Donald Trump threw a temper tantrum about his poll numbers, but it’s pretty clear that he’s getting destroyed by former Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden right now. And reporter Kasie Hunt had additional bad news for him.

Trump is currently losing big swing states such as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. But he is also losing in North Carolina, Florida, and even in Texas. This does not bode well for any incumbent president seeking reelection and it’s all because of Trump’s reckless response to the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed over 61,000 Americans and has left the economy in shambles.

Even Republicans down the ballot in states such as Arizona, Colorado, and Maine are getting hammered as their association with Trump is hindering them.

This has caused the GOP to advise candidates to stop defending Trump on the campaign trail because it’s only making things worse for them.

During a segment on MSNBC, Hunt delivered even more bad news to Trump and Republicans by noting that Independent voters are shifting away from the party and that pandering to his base won’t be enough to win in November.

“Republicans, for the most part, are still with the President, but when you start to look at how people are engaged, in a way that they weren’t before — Trump was relying on making this about his core supporters going to the polls, he was going to energize them, he wasn’t going to focus on the rest of the country,” Hunt said. “And when we were facing a polarized electorate that was talking about culture war-style issues every day, that may have been a strategy that was gonna work. But what’s been shifting aggressively are the numbers among Independents, in particular, are really concerning.”

Here’s the video:

Indeed, Bloomberg reports that “Trump’s standing among independents has fallen from 45 percent to 27 percent” since December, a devastating reversal as many Republicans jump to support Biden.

All told, Trump should be terrified right now, especially since his response to this pandemic continues to be a failure of epic proportions that will end up killing even more Americans if he reopens the country early and triggers a second wave of the virus.

One would think that Republicans would want to dump Trump to save their careers and American lives, but it appears they intend to commit political suicide by sticking with him. They will regret that mistake for generations.
