Over the course of the past several months, Donald Trump has been losing his support in droves — thanks in large part to his dismal, dangerous, and downright deadly “response” to the coronavirus pandemic. And even with just one single day left until Americans officially cast their vote for President of the United States in tomorrow’s election, Trump’s support is waning still, with more and more people continuing to stand up and speak out against him.
The most recent to take a stand and not only denounce the current President but announce and throw their support behind Democratic nominee Joe Biden is Mike Bowen, a Republican executive of a company that manufactures medical masks — an industry that has been enormously overwhelmed in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
Bowen serves as the executive vice president of Prestige Ameritech, a Texas-based company that serves as the nation’s largest supplier of N95 masks and respirators, and he recently gave a statement to HuffPost, in which he said that Donald Trump’s response to this pandemic has “greatly increased death and suffering in America.”
“President Trump downplayed the virus, missed opportunities, and wasted precious time,” Bowen’s statement reads. “He has also politicized the wearing of masks… The man has politicized a life-saving medical device and has teased people for wearing it!”

“Mr. Trump is a self-proclaimed ‘genius’ who prefers his own magical thinking to the advice of experts and scientists,” Bowen continues, adding, “The next time that there is a scientifically minded Republican presidential candidate, I will vote for her or him. This time, however, there is only one scientifically minded person in the race. That person is Joe Biden.”
The company exec has been a lifelong Republican but testified before Congress back in May that this country’s dependency on masks from foreign counties has been a risk to national security for far too long.
Former director of the U.S. Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), Dr. Rick Bright, testified in said hearing, verifying that Bowen warned federal officials of an impending mask shortage in the nation way back in January.
The mask company executive also appears in the recently released film documentary, Totally Under Control, which takes a good, hard look at the government’s response to a deadly pandemic under the reign of the Trump administration.
“Around 2005, all of the major mask makers left the country,” Bowen says in the documentary. “It put the U.S. mask supply in the hands of foreign control and could be subject to diversion during the pandemic. And that’s what I’ve been warning about for years.”
I voted for Donald Trump. I thought, you know, if I contact enough people in the administration somebody ― one of these people ― is going to look at this and say, ‘Hey, this is a problem. Maybe we ought to call this guy.’ And no, I couldn’t get any ― I didn’t get any response there.”
Even as close as we are to home stretch, people are still speaking out against this vile, dangerous human being. This alone proves the massive importance of our responsibility as Americans come tomorrow. Do what’s right.
