Republican Politician Tweeted Then Deleted Suggestion That DNC Was Offering George Floyd’s Family “Free Meth” To Speak At Convention

Sickening doesn't even touch this.

The Democratic National Convention got off to one hell of a start last night with an absolutely superb address from former First Lady Michelle Obama, in which she called out the Trump administration and called upon the American people to vote as though our lives depend on it (because for a lot of us, they do at this point) in a way that no one but her can truly pull off.

And to say that the line up of speakers for the convention is powerful would a resounding understatement.

In addition to powerful political voices, the family of George Floyd also spoke at the DNC.

Given the rightful prominence of the Black Lives Matters movement in the country on the heels of their family member’s murder in the streets of Minneapolis, at the hands of a white police officer, and Donald Trump’s clear disdain for the movement and everything it stands for (even going so far as to sic the National Guard on protesters), the DNC’s decision to have the family speak at the event only makes sense.

But unsurprisingly, it’s rubbing some GOPers the wrong way.

Now, we expected some mouthiness from the other side of the fence regarding the whole ordeal, and Trump himself certainly didn’t disappoint when it came to complaining about the event. However, even as disgusting and awful as the GOP as a whole is, no one was prepared for something as sickening as this.

DeAnna Lorraine is a Republican politician wannabe, YouTuber, and author from California. To say that she’s “out there” would be the understatement of the century. But in the process of responding to the DNC’s decision to bring in the Floyd family to speak at the convention, she crossed a line that beyond sickening even for her.

In a tweet that she’s since deleted, Lorraine posted to her Twitter account yesterday afternoon, wondering if the DNC had offered George Floyd’s family “free meth” in exchange for their participation in the event.

“Why is George Floyd’s family speaking at the Dem Convention?” DeAnna wrote. “Did they offer them free meth?”

Lorraine ultimately deleted the offending tweet, but screenshots last forever.

Folks, this is the party we’re up against. Michelle Obama wasn’t kidding when she stressed the importance of your vote come November. This country won’t make it through another four years of that.
