A group of conservatives are now demanding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) be imprisoned or removed from office for ripping up President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech.
On Tuesday night as Trump delivered the concluding remarks of a despicable address, Pelosi stood up and tore a copy of the speech in half, an expression of disgust shared by millions of Americans.
Republicans have been whining about her action ever since, and many are even calling for her to be jailed or removed from office for it, including Donald Trump Jr. and Rep. Dan Bishop (R.N.C.).
US Code prohibits the destruction of government records
Nancy Pelosi may have just committed a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2071, Section 2071 (a) when she ripped up President Trump’s State of the Union address
This violation is punishable by up to three years in prison

Trump’s loyal base of extremists have been repeating the call, but many pointed out the hypocrisy along with noting how wrong they are about the law.

Pelosi did not break any laws when she tore up Trump’s speech, but she sure did trigger conservatives enough that they are revealing themselves as hypocrites considering all the crimes Trump has committed before and since he took office.
