Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has once again found himself on the receiving end of a brutal blasting, this time at the hands of one of his own former officials, over the autocratic shift his GOP-led state has made in the recent months under Ron’s blood-curdling reign of terror here lately.

Ron Filipkowski is a rather popular Twitter user these days, using his platform to regularly hit out against the corrupt Republican party. However, he used to serve as a member of Ron DeSantis’ Judicial Nominating Commission and he’s certainly not afraid of making a target out of the GOP governor on his popular social media account.

Today, Florida-based Politico reporter Gary Fineout tweeted out a blind quote about the Republican FL Governor, reading, “Here’s what 1 GOP legislator said about DeSantis: ‘They are not going to embarrass Ron DeSantis. Ron DeSantis is essentially the speaker of the House, the president of the Senate and the chief justice of the Supreme Court right now.'”

Filipkowski caught wind of Fineout’s post and retweeted the quote with a caption of his own: “There is a word for that.”

Following that up with a second tweet in the conversation, the former DeSantis official went on to write, “FL no longer has a functioning, separation of powers, checks and balances, Republic. The elected representatives of the party in power are so intimidated by the bully in the Governor’s mansion that we are now essentially an autocracy.”

Of course, this is far from the first time Filipkowski has set his sights on Florida’s very own carbon copy of Donald Trump — hitting out at him back in October and writing, “In less than 3 years, Desantis has corrupted nearly every institution in Florida.”

Just earlier this week, the former DeSantis official also penned a piece in The Bulwark, in which he outlined what he’s been doing with his time and energy since his resignation from the Judicial Nominating Commission in December 2020 — including his fight against Right-wing misinformation.
