A brutal ruling handed down by a federal appeals court in Washington today hails all the way back to the days of the Mueller report and now reveals that the US Department of Justice, while under the control of Donald Trump’s former Attorney General Bill Barr, improperly redacted key portions of a memo that Barr would go on to use as a source to avoid charging the then-president with obstruction of justice in relation to the special counsel’s Russia probe.

To make matters that much worse for the former attorney general and president, the leading ethics watchdog, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has officially announced that they will soon obtain said memo, and make it public for all of the American people, and the world, to see.

The Hill reports on the bombshell development:

The unanimous ruling by a three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit affirmed a federal judge’s May 2021 decision that the DOJ had improperly redacted parts of the Trump-era legal memo that should have been made public as part of a government watchdog’s records request lawsuit.

The memo at issue was prepared at Barr’s request by the DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) in March 2019, ostensibly to provide legal advice that would go on to guide Barr’s decision not to charge Trump with obstruction of justice related to his alleged interference with former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into his 2016 campaign’s contacts with Moscow.”

NEW: DOJ improperly redacted a memo to AG Barr that related to whether former President Trump obstructed the special counsel probe into his campaign’s dealings with Russia during the 2016 presidential election, a unanimous DC Circ. panel just ruled

The Justice Department responded to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that sought the unredacted version of the memo and argued that it should remain shielded under a FOIA exemption that protects internal government deliberations. However, the D.C. Circuit Court panel did not agree.

CREW published a tweet this morning, announcing that they will soon have their hands on the memo that quite frankly changed the course of this nation in a permanent way, and will be making it public as soon as possible:

This nation suffered through so much at the hands of Donald Trump and the cronies he planted inside the US government. But the American people are saying, “No more.” It’s high time these people were exposed for the corrupt conmen they truly are.
