According to disturbing new reporting from CNN, an agent with the US Secret Service who once served as a driver for former First Lady Michelle Obama has now been slammed with charges for harassing a woman he formerly dated, after she turned down his incessant sexual advances.
CNN reports on newly surfaced court records showing that Douglas Vines ultimately put in a plea of not guilty to charges of criminal harassment as well as witness intimidation in a Massachusetts court. According to the court documents, a woman went to the police and told authorities that 53-year-old Vines went “off the handle” after she declined his advances to have sex with him one night.
The woman alleged to law enforcement officials that the US Secret Service agent proceeded to call, text, and shout at her after she declined his advances, threateningly warning her that she was “messing with the wrong person.” Vines’ alleged victim told police that the Secret Service agent attempted to leverage his position as a driver for the Obama family to further coerce and intimidate her into having sex with him.
Vines allegedly went on to tell the woman, who had a relationship with the agent for around 2 months, that he could ping her cell phone and discover her location, according to the statement the victim told the police. He also claimed to be able to read her text messages and told her he had a sample of her DNA at his disposal.

The Secret Service agent threatened her with deportation, according to the police report on the matter, telling his victim that he had recordings of her discussing her citizenship status as well as threatening her with personal photographs he had of her.
In her report, the woman expressed her concern regarding the consensually sent intimate images of herself that Vines had in his possession. Ultimately, a judge issued an abuse prevention order against Vines and ordered that the Secret Service agent must turn over all of his firearms, gun licenses, and firearms ID cards.
Ultimately, Vines was removed from the Secret Service detail for the Obama family and placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the charges against him. Vines’ security clearance was revoked as well as any access he previously had to any Secret Service facilities.
