In recent weeks, DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith has been making increasingly heated moves in his investigations into scandal-ridden former President Donald Trump.

Millions of Americans were rightfully concerned when Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Smith to spearhead the Justice Department’s multiple ongoing investigations into the ex-president, expressing genuine concern that Smith’s appointment was a signal that the DOJ was not taking things seriously enough, and Trump would once again escape justice in the end.

However, Smith has more than proven that’s not the case at all.

Over the last week, legal experts have publicly warned that Smith’s recent moves in the investigations send a clear signal to Trump and his allies that Jack will leave “no stone unturned” in his fight for truth and justice and the special counsel’s decision to start issuing subpoenas against those closest to the now-former president around the time of the infamous, deadly January 6th Capitol attack, such as Trump’s own former VP Mike Pence, indicates that “criminal charges against Trump” in relation to the infamous insurrection “are close.”

And Smith is showing no signs of slowing down.

According to bombshell new reporting from CNN, Special Counsel Jack Smith has now issued a brutal subpoena against none other than Donald Trump’s own ex-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, in connection to the DOJ’s mounting investigation into the January 6th Capitol attack.

One source spoke with CNN on the matter and revealed that Smith is seeking both documents and sworn testimony from Meadows in relation to the Capitol riot. According to reporting, Meadows received the DOJ subpoena in January:

Special counsel Jack Smith’s office is seeking documents and testimony related to January 6, and Meadows received the subpoena sometime in January, the source said. An attorney for Meadows declined to comment.

The Justice Department did not respond to CNN’s request for comment on the subpoena.

The move to subpoena one of Trump’s most senior aides – in addition to the recent subpoena of former Vice President Mike Pence, as CNN reported last week – marks the latest significant step in the special counsel’s investigation into Trump’s role in seeking to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election.”

In addition to his investigation into the infamous Capitol insurrection, and Donald Trump’s specific role in inciting the deadly violence on that fateful day, Smith was also appointed by the Biden Justice Department to head their investigations into the ex-president’s overall efforts to overthrow a United States presidential election as well as Trump’s stolen Mar-a-Lago classified document scandal.

Trump continues to brutally rage against the DOJ investigations lodged against him, as well as launching repeated nasty attacks against Smith on a personal level, most recently referring to the investigations against him as “the Gestapo and KGB all wrapped up into one.”
