Today, it seems Texas Senator (And Cancun’s finest visitor) Ted Cruz was a proud participant in the United States’ version of the “People’s Convoy” — an American knockoff of the Canadian trucker convoy that’s caused so much fuss lately. I mean… Really proud.
So much so that he snagged a shotgun seat in the lead truck that was heading into Washington D.C. for a news conference, while the remainder of the convoy circled the Capital Beltway — all in a pathetic, unoriginal, and super dramatic protest of COVID-19 restrictions.
“There ain’t no ignoring a senator riding in the lead truck,” convoy organizer and driver of the lead truck Brian Brase said, going on to call Cruz’s presence and participation “basically an endorsement of what we’re doing.”
Seriously, the idiot was ecstatic:

But all was not well during Cruz’s appearance. One person in the crowd (we are unable to verify if the individual was, in fact, a trucker like Filipkowski’s tweet says) wasn’t too fond of Cruz and made sure to let him know it while the TX senator was giving a speech:
