Trump Allegedly Underwent Colonoscopy With No Anesthesia So That Mike Pence Wouldn’t Gain Temporary Power

What a weirdo.

Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham’s forthcoming book, “I’ll Take Your Questions Now,” is making the rounds, and it has obviously upset former President Donald Trump. The New York Times obtained an excerpt of the book, and it revealed what took place during the twice-impeached one-term president’s mysterious hospital visit in 2019 that spurred speculation about his health.

Trump’s secret visit to Walter Reed was for a routine colonoscopy, according to Stephanie Grisham, Trump’s former press secretary and first lady Melania Trump’s chief of staff. She doesn’t, however, use the word colonoscopy, but it’s implied. And oddly, Trump didn’t want his then-vice-president to take temporary charge, so he refused to go under anesthesia. And while that sounds painful, a quick Google search tells me it is not.

The outlet reports, ‘She was a close-up observer of Mr. Trump’s obsession with control, and details a scene in which the president undergoes a colonoscopy without anesthesia — though she doesn’t name the procedure — because, she reasons, even temporarily assigning power to the vice president would have been “showing weakness.”

Grisham gave enough details in the book to make it clear what the procedure was. Grisham called it “a very common procedure” for which “a patient is sometimes put under.” She noted that former President George W. Bush had one, and that’s a significant clue since the former president underwent a colonoscopy in 2007 and temporarily signed over the powers of the presidency to his vice-president, Dick Cheney.

According to the Washington Post, Grisham noted in the book that the former could have used the procedure as an opportunity to demystify colonoscopies and cancer screenings, “but as with COVID, he was too wrapped up in his own ego and his own delusions about his invincibility.”

Grisham also writes that the former president was resistant to having Vice President Mike Pence in power even temporarily, and he didn’t want to be “the butt of a joke” on late-night TV.

And yet, he is still the butt of the joke on late-night TV. A lot of information has been revealed in the book, and we’re sure Trump is taking it thoughtfully and calmly, using it as a chance for reflection.
