Earlier today, we reported that Donald Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows is likely to soon face a criminal referral after refusing to comply with a subpoena to appear before the House select committee investigating the deadly January 6th insurrection. Expect a temper tantrum from the twice-impeached one-term president because former Trump adviser Steve Bannon was just indicted by a grand jury, and an arrest warrant was just signed, according to CNN’s Kaitlan Collins. It sure seems like a lot of the “lock her up” crowd is being locked up.
Steve Bannon has been indicted by a federal grand jury, @SchneiderCNN reports. Prosecutors presented an indictment and arrest warrant to a federal magistrate on Friday afternoon, according to CNN reporters in the magistrate courtroom.

The judge signed an arrest warrant for an indicted defendant with the initials “SB.” A source confirmed it’s Bannon.

Mark Meadows should be shaking in his boots right now. The law didn’t mean anything with the last administration, and now they fucked around and found out. Bannon tried to claim executive privilege even though he wasn’t part of the former president’s administration at the time. Bannon is charged with one count for failing to appear for a deposition and another for refusing to hand over documents. He could face fines and up to one year in prison for each count.
Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a statement.
“Since my first day in office, I have promised Justice Department employees that together we would show the American people by word and deed that the department adheres to the rule of law, follows the facts and the law and pursues equal justice under the law,” Garland said. “Today’s charges reflect the department’s steadfast commitment to these principles.”
