As I’m sure you know by this point, Donald Trump is not a well-loved individual among his fellow world leaders. And perhaps one of the best examples of such was the situation that mounted between him and the Iranian president.
A while back, Iran shot down an unmanned drone and Donald had a lot of trouble figuring out how to react to it. He bounced bounce back and forth between threats of harsh retaliation and claiming that the attack wasn’t on purpose. Then supposedly called off an airstrike against the country just minutes before it was set to launch due to the number of casualties it would cause.
Donald’s tactic, in lieu of an airstrike attack at the time, seemed to be US sanctions against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani responded to those sanctions by slamming Donald Trump and his White House as “mentally retarded.”
“The White House actions mean it is mentally retarded,” Rouhani fired back in a blistering televised statement. “Tehran’s strategic patience does not mean we have fear.”

Of course, Donald Trump has never and will never take well to any form of criticism, especially not against his intelligence — which we’re all aware is severely lacking.
So, as expected, Roouhani’s scathing statement induced an all-out Twitter meltdown of epic proportions — with the president ultimately threatening to “obliterate” the country for saying mean things about him.
“Iran’s very ignorant and insulting statement, put out today, only shows that they do not understand reality. Any attack by Iran on anything American will be met with great and overwhelming force,” Donald threatened via his Twitter account. Because apparently, we don’t do anything in an official capacity anymore. “In some areas, overwhelming will mean obliteration. No more John Kerry & Obama!”

It’s a worrisome situation when the equivalent of the schoolyard bully has access to the big red button. And now we know precisely why, after Trump officially put our nation on the very brink of war after launching an airstrike near the Baghdad airport that resulted in the death of Iranian Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani in addition to other senior Iranian-linked figures — all because he was super pissy and really wanted folks to stop focusing on his impeachment and instead focus on securing him another four years in the White House.
I can only imagine that the Iranian president is now calling Trump far worse than “mentally retarded.”
