Former President Donald Trump has been trying to hawk his new picture book since before the holidays. The twice-impeached one-term disgraced President said, “It will make a “fantastic Christmas present,” but apparently, sales aren’t going that well. However, Donald thinks he sold a lot of books. According to a statement tweeted out by the former President’s spokesperson to circumvent his Twitter ban, Trump has sold 200,000 copies of his picture book in the first six weeks. To put that in perspective, former President Barack Obama’s memoir sold 887,000 in all formats in the U.S. and Canada on its first day, making it the best-selling book in the publisher’s history.
Former first lady Michelle Obama’s book “Becoming” sold in total book sales, including hardcover, audio, and e-books editions, around 725,000 copies in the United States and Canada during its first day, making it the second best-selling debut for any book in 2018.
Former President George W. Bush’s memoir “Decision Points” sold at least 220,000 copies through its first day of release. Hillary Clinton’s memoir What Happened sold 300,000 copies in its first week.
So, 200,000 in six weeks for a former President isn’t very good.
