One very odd entrance

On Wednesday, Trump gathered his crypto business partners in the Roosevelt Room to push a stalled regulatory bill through Congress.

The room included SEC Chair Paul Atkins, CFTC Chair Michael Selig, and executives from Coinbase, Ripple, Robinhood, Gemini, Kraken, Nasdaq and the NYSE, several with financial ties to World Liberty Financial, the crypto venture Trump built with his sons. He arrived more than 30 minutes late and told the room: “We’re focused on creating a clear regulatory framework for pioneers and builders like the people that are here with me so that they can do business with confidence on American soil.”

Trump stood in the doorway for several seconds after saying “Hello everybody,” took a couple of steps forward, then moved sideways to his right. He did it again to reach the podium, keeping his body facing the cameras instead of turning toward them as he walked.

That unusual entrance quickly became the part people were talking about.

One post asked: “34 minutes late, barely moving, out of breath, and what’s up with the walking sideways?”

And that was only the beginning of the commentary.

That clip landed on top of a theory that had already been building for days.

At a Long Island rally the previous Friday, a camera caught Trump from behind as he turned toward the crowd, showing what appeared to be something under the back of his suit. People guessed it could be anything from a catheter to a medical support device, but there is no confirmation that it was either.

The videos have also added to a longer list of questions about Trump’s health.

He has been photographed with bruising on both hands and swelling around his ankles, while some observers have pointed to what looks like dragging or tapping in his right leg during public appearances. The White House has continued to say Trump is in “excellent” health, but has not explained the unusual walk.
