Former President Donald Trump is currently embroiled in what has shaped up to be one of the biggest scandals of his 76 years of life after news broke in early August that FBI agents had executed a search and seizure warrant raid at his Mar-a-Lago resort turned post-White House personal residence. While the details were sparse in the very beginning, we quickly learned that the search warrant was authorized by the US Department of Justice over the countless boxes of highly-classified, top-secret government documents that Donald Trump allegedly stole from the White House in the final days of his tumultuous presidency. As more and more details came to light, we discovered that FBI agents ultimately seized hundreds upon hundreds of documents from the ex-president’s golf resort and residence after he lied to the National Archives and Records Administration on numerous occasions when they attempted to recover the materials from his Palm Beach compound.
As it stands, the search warrant document has revealed that Trump now stands under investigation for violations of multiple laws and regulations, including the Presidential Records Act and the Espionage Act.
But Trump is desperately trying to paint the whole ordeal as a good thing, of some sort, recently going so far as to declare that the scandal has only served to rake in a bunch of “free publicity” for his Palm Beach resort/golf club.
The ridiculous claim came during his recent speech this week at the Hispanic Leadership Conference in Miami, organized by America First Works, held in one of the ballrooms of the Intercontinental Miami. The ex-president told the crowd that the news “helicopters” that allegedly keep flying over Mar-a-Lago since the FBI raid have only served to bring in more business for his private oceanfront resort.

“People say, ‘That’s a nice house,'” Trump said. “If it weren’t so nice they probably wouldn’t be doing it.”
Mar-a-Lago is, of course, a private resort where people pay for annual memberships. Business Insider recently reported that the club has been closed since Mother’s Day and doesn’t reopen until October 31st and it remains unclear as to whether the cost of a Mar-a-Lago membership has changed since the August raid.
Town and Country reports that a membership to the Palm Beach estate will run you $200,000 to join, with an additional $14,000 in annual dues that allow members to access the club’s dining amenities, spas, tennis courts, and other Trump properties.
