Former President Trump phoned into Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show and said his speech on Jan. 6, which preceded the Capitol riot, was “extremely calming” even though he was impeached for inciting the deadly insurrection. Before the Capitol riot broke out, Trump repeated false election fraud claims and told his supporters that they needed to “fight like hell.”
“You’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong,” Trump said. “We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
It’s as if the twice-impeached one-term President doesn’t think we remember significant events.
“I have nothing to hide,” Trump said on Ingraham’s show. “I wasn’t involved in that, and if you look at my words and what I said in the speech, they were extremely calming, actually.”

Trump’s speech was so “calming” that 719 people have been charged in the Capitol insurrection so far. And if Trump has “nothing to hide” then why is he trying to hide behind executive privilege?
On Jan. 6, Trump incited an insurrection.
“All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical-left Democrats, which is what they’re doing,” he falsely said at the time. “And stolen by the fake news media. That’s what they’ve done and what they’re doing. We will never give up; we will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.”
“Our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore, and that’s what this is all about,” he continued. “And to use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with: We will stop the steal. Today I will lay out just some of the evidence proving that we won this election, and we won it by a landslide. This was not a close election.”
What a disgrace.
