Trump Could Be In Serious Trouble After His Spokesman Claims He Gave 1,700 Pages Of Documents To Jan. 6th Committee

Trump is going to lose his mind when he hears about this.

One Trump spokesman has essentially let the entire world know that he’s been heavily cooperating with the January 6th House Select Committee that’s currently investigating the events surrounding and directly leading up to the infamous Capitol riot, as well as individuals who were potentially involved, the former president included. It seems, however, that Trump’s talking head is only willing to cooperate with the committee, in so far as it affects everyone but him personally.

Taylor Budowich, a spokesman for Donald Trump, filed a lawsuit in a District of Columbia federal court, in which he pretty much said that’s he’s extensively cooperated with the January 6th House Committee, but it’s gone far enough now, according to a new report from the Independent.

In his lawsuit, Budowich claimed he sent the House Select Committee upwards of 1,700 pages of documents, as part of his cooperation with the investigation, as well as provided the committee with approximately 4 hours of testimony under oath — a revelation I can only imagine the one-term, twice-impeached former guy will be none to happy to hear about.

During his recent deposition, Budowich reportedly answered questions from committee members regarding the financing and planning of Donald Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally that took place outside the Capitol building just hours before the then-President’s supporters would go on to violently storm the Capitol building as Congessmembers were inside certifying the Electoral College votes in favor of Joe Biden.

It seems Trump’s spokesman was fine with forking over extensive documentation and hours of sworn testimony with regard to the ex-president, but now that the committee is on the hunt for some more personal information from Budowich, he’s no longer so keen on participating willingly.

The Independent report notes that Mr. Budowich is fighting against a subpoena sent to JPMorgan by the House Select Committee, seeking the Trump spokesman’s own financial records. Budowich argues in his lawsuit that the January 6th HOuse Committee is denying him due process in their investigation and is using the suit to seek a restraining order with the intent of blocking the massive bank from releasing his financial records to House investigators.

“The subpoena seeks personal financial material that is irrelevant to any conceivable legislation and not pertinent to any purported purpose of the Select Committee,” the lawsuit reads.

A spokesperson for the House panel reportedly has not responded to requests for comments on the lawsuit.

Of course, Budowich is far from the only Trump ally or officials to file a lawsuit attempting the halt the House Committee’s investigation. Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, Right-wing radio host and nutjob Alex Jones, and even the former President, Donald Trump himself have attempted to shut down the Jan. 6th investigations against them through ridiculous lawsuits.

Something tells me Budowich’s will go over about as well as all the rest have.
